Recently declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, the Chandigarh Capitol Complex is home to some of the most spectacular works of Le Corbusier, the architect, and the man behind the planning and designing of the city beautiful. Buildings such as the High Court, the Secretariat and the State Legislatures of Punjab & Haryana, and the Open Hand Monument, a life-sized symbol of the city beautiful, are magnificent in terms of design, and just as mesmerising in terms of their location, with the shivalik hills right in the background.
